The boundless creativity of people in Sidmouth was caught on film when resident photographer Kyle Baker was out filming at the weekend.

Kyle, who is currently making a four minute documentary on life under lock down in Sidmouth, got more than he bargained for when he asked residents of Fleming Avenue to show their artistic talents in support of our NHS workers on Sunday.

He asked residents to decorate their street to show their support. After a local teacher helped out by providing coloured chalk the street became a colourful mosaic created by people of all ages.

"It's all to do with the four minute documentary I'm making on life in Sidmouth under lock down. I wanted to find locals showing their community spirit and their support for the NHS.

"I asked if anyone would like to decorate the street to show their appreciation for our amazing keyworkers. The whole street got behind it and got really creative."

Kyle was taken aback by how much people enjoyed the chance to get creative and how everyone was pleased to take part.

By the time Kyle was done filming the street was almost unrecognisable, rainbow banners and homemade bunting lined the avenue while the pavement was transformed from its usual grey to a collage of rainbows and messages of support.

"It was really nice to see such creativity at such a difficult time," said Kyle.

"A lot of people commented that they were feeling down and this really helped to brighten their day."

Stay tuned to Nub News for more information on Kyle's lock down documentary over the coming days.
