How to keep mentally and physically fit during lockdown

Keeping fit and healthy – both mentally and physically – is tough right now. The gyms are closed, we're unable to see friends and family, and many of us are cooped up at home, unable to go to work. But it isn't all negative.
Now is the perfect time to take up a new hobby and try something new. Meditation is a great one for looking after your mental health, while running (close to home, of course!) helps you both mentally and physically. Build your distance and fitness up gradually with an app like Couch to 5K, which will turn anyone into a runner in no time.
Getting out and about for your daily walk is important too – fresh air does wonders for your wellbeing. We're very lucky where we live to have plenty of beautiful walking spots on our doorstep, meaning we can keep a safe distance from others while enjoying the great outdoors.
For those missing the gym and their fitness classes, many instructors across the country are sharing tips and workouts to do from home – including us at LC Fitness. Our classes are still running with a revised timetable, all via Facebook Live. You can join in with a relaxing Flow class, work up a sweat with HIIT, or try our brand-new Pump class.
No equipment? No problem! Most classes require no equipment at all, including Pump where you can use household items or your own bodyweight for your workout (those stockpiled tins will finally come into good use!).
Our online classes cost just £20 per month, with access to 2-3 live classes per day. NHS workers receive a 50% discount too – our little way of saying thanks during this difficult time.
We are also running free live classes for the whole family every Saturday morning on our Facebook page.
