Cinema Paradiso is the utterly charming tale of Salvatore, a boy growing up in rural Sicily in the 1940s and 1905s, who has a burning curiosity about cinema so besieges the local projectionist Alfredo with demands to teach him all he knows. Alfredo eventually agrees to share the secrets of his trade with his irrepressible apprentice. Tornatore's Oscar-winning masterpiece follows Salvatore as he grows and learns about life, love, and loss.
