More details have been announced about this year's Celebration of Sidmouth Folk Festival – and more tickets have been released for the open-air evening concerts in Blackmore Gardens.

The festival runs from Friday, July 30 until Friday, August 6.

Daytime in Blackmore Gardens

There's a packed programme of daytime entertainment in Blackmore Gardens, and there will not be an admission fee, but those attending will be encouraged to make a donation.

Each day will start with family-focused activities from 9.30am until 12.30pm. These will include workshops led from the stage and other hands-on activities around the quieter corners of the gardens – along with some surprise events throughout the rest of the day.

Afternoon Shows 1.00-5.30pm

The afternoons will see concerts, dance bands, street theatre and walkabout acts. The music performers include Narthen, Jim Causley, Will Pound, Miranda Sykes, The Shackleton Trio, Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne, Jack Rutter, Paul Downes & Annie Winter, Alice Jones & Bryony Griffith, Next Slide Please, THREE P.M, Ben Paley, Nick Wyke & Becki Driscoll, Saul Rose, Exmouth Shanty Men, Peter & Barbara Snape and Mariners Away.

The English Folk Dance and Song Society will present a series of showcases featuring rising stars and EFDSS bursary recipients, including Polly Paulusma, Zoe Wren, Tom Kitching, Katy Rose Bennett, Molly Evans, George Sansome, The Wilderness Yet, Rowan Godel, Holly Clarke, Penny Kempson and Jack Hogsden.

The dance music will include Mrs Midnight's, Random, Jigfoot, Bosun Higgs, THREE P.M. and Next Slide Please.

The walkabouts and street theatre will feature a bee-themed show called Bumblina, cartoon-like stilt walking characters, giant tree characters, and the Granny Turismo ladies on their souped-up shopping trolleys.

There will be a food court in Blackmore Gardens with a range of dishes on offer including vegan cuisine, and there will be local ales, ciders and other drinks available from the Blackmore volunteer bar.

The organisers are inviting donations from people taking part in the Family Fun entertainment and watching the afternoon shows – the amount suggested is £5 per adult and £2 per child, payable via contactless card terminals or in cash.

In addition to the Blackmore Gardens entertainment, there will be lunchtime ceilidhs at the Anchor Gardens, with some sounds from Random, Bosun Higgs, Jigfoot, Mrs Midnight's and The Barber Band. Nick Walden, Fee Lock, Gordon Potts and Barry Goodman provide the calling.

There will be more food and drink outlets at The Ham including Rusty Pig with Tom's Pies and The Anchors Away Bar. There will also be music and entertainment.

Young people can take part in a programme run by Shooting Roots, with workshops for 12 to 17-year-olds in song, dance, tunes, craft, and theatre, the popular Betsy's Bash sessions and lots of folky fun and games.
