Sidmouth hypnotherapist, Deborah Pearce, is adapting her practice under the current social distancing measures by delivering therapy sessions over the internet.
Deborah said: “Online hypnotherapy is a well-established, tried and tested method of delivering therapy remotely. Many of my colleagues have integrated online therapy into their service to clients in recent years.
“Although there are benefits in meeting face to face, this obviously is not possible at the moment, and ‘remote’ therapy is the next best thing.
“I have contacted all of my existing clients and have already carried out sessions online with some of them. We arrange a fail-safe in case the internet interrupts the signal, but other than that it’s business as usual. I am delighted to say that it works surprisingly well.’
“These are challenging times for everyone. The mind does not like change and we are hard-wired to benefit from social interaction, so it’s more important than ever that we all take steps to protect our mental well-being. Keeping in touch with friends by phone or online is a great way of doing that, remembering to keep the conversation as positive and uplifting as you can.”
