Owners of boats, jetskis, kayaks and paddleboards are being advised that a temporary exclusion zone will be in place off Sidmouth beach during the Air Show on Friday, August 27.

No vessels except those belonging to the emergency services will be allowed into this area, which will be marked out with coloured buoys and patrolled by Sidmouth Lifeboat and other associated craft.

The exclusion will start at 5.30pm and be in place until the end of the display, which is expected to last around one hour and 15 minutes.

Sidmouth Town Council, which has announced the Air Display Water Safety Zone, says any failure to comply with the restriction could lead to the air display being delayed, cut short or even cancelled.

The town council is also asking people to remember that the display will involve loud jet engine noise, which may frighten dogs. People with small children may wish to give them ear protection equipment.
