Cyclist dies in fatal road traffic incident at Stafford Cross

A cyclist has died in a road traffic incident which took place on Sunday morning (July 14) at Stafford Cross, on the main road towards Seaton.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "At 09:40 hours Police were notified of a single vehicle road traffic incident on the A3052 Stafford Cross near Colyton.

"The incident involved a pedal cycle which had been travelling on the A3052 towards Seaton in company with another pedal cycle which was ahead.

"The second cyclist is believed to have suffered a medical episode and was pronounced deceased at the scene."

Officers from the Devon and Cornwall Police's Alliance Roads Policing Team attended the scene to establish the cause of this collision.

Police thank the public for their patience while they investigated the scene.

If anyone witnessed this incident they are requested to telephone Police on 101 quoting Log 322.
