Elderly woman seriously injured crossing the road in Ottery St Mary

Emergency services were called to an incident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle yesterday evening (Tuesday 17), leaving a woman aged 92 with serious injuries.

Police provided the following statement: "At 18:43hrs on Tuesday 17 December, 2019 Devon and Cornwall Police were notified of a Road Traffic Incident on West Hill Road, West Hill, Ottery St Mary.

"The incident was attended by personnel from the police and ambulance services.

"A 92-year-old female pedestrian crossing the road was seriously injured by a single vehicle travelling along the road.

"Officers from the Exeter Roads Policing Unit are appealing for witnesses to come forward quoting log number 0733 of 17/12/19.

"Police would like to thank members of the public for their patience during the scene closure."
