Planning permission to build a bungalow in the garden of a Sidbury property has been denied.

The single-storey residential dwelling would have had two bedrooms and been built in the garden of two-bed converted barn Bramley, located off Ridgeway at the edge of the village.

The property would have used the existing access from Ridgeway and featured white render, a slate roof, white UPVC windows and doors, and black rainwater goods.

Among its reasons for refusing the application, East Devon District Council said it would not have been "visually attractive or respectful of local character and history in this rural fringe location", and would have resulted in "noise from vehicle manoeuvring" and would have "[given] rise to conflict between vehicles and pedestrians".
