Police appeal after A3052 Sidmouth Road crash leaves motorcyclist with multiple serious injuries

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage of a crash on the A3052 that left a motorcyclist with multiple serious injuries.

The crash, involving a red Honda motorcycle and a white Renault Kangoo, took place between Seaton and Lyme Regis near Rousdon at the junction with Green Lane. Police were called at around 3.55pm to the incident on Monday 20 June.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s from Exeter, sustained multiple serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital and is still there. The other driver was not injured.

The road was closed for around seven hours for police to examine the scene.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police are seeking witnesses after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision near Rousdon in East Devon.

"Officers were called around 3.55pm on Monday 20 June after the collision between a red Honda motorcycle and a white Renault Kangoo on the A3052 Sidmouth Road at the junction with Green Lane.

"The motorcycle rider, a man in his 50s from Exeter, sustained multiple serious injuries and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital where he remains. The other driver was uninjured.

"Roads policing officers attended alongside paramedics and the fire service.

"The road was closed for seven hours while a specialist examination of the scene was carried out by police.

"Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and appealing for any witnesses to contact them. They would particularly like to hear from anyone with relevant dashcam footage."
