Sidmouth dog owners are being asked to take their dog waste home as dog waste bins are 'overflowing'.

East Devon District Council (EDDC) has asked all dog owners in the Sidmouth area to take their dog waste home as the council is struggling to keep up with the 'exceptionally heavy use' in recent weeks.

A spokesperson for EDDC said: "Due to exceptionally heavy use some dog bins are overflowing.

"As soon as staffing levels allow we will be catching up with collections but this will take sometime.

"To help with the situation -please take dog waste home, double bag it and put it in your wheeled waste bin."

EDDC has also suspended all Green waste collections, until further notice.
