Repair works at Jacob's Ladder beach have been postponed by East Devon District Council until next year due to "difficult weather conditions".

The £200k repairs to the sea wall, ramp, and the replacement of some of the handrails with a wall had been expected to be complete by the start of November.

A spokesperson for EDDC said: "We have made the decision to postpone the works at Jacobs Ladder in Sidmouth until late February 2023 due to difficult weather conditions.

"We do apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."
