Two multi-award-winning jazz musicians have joined the line-up of the very first Sidmouth International Jazz and Blues Festival taking place over the Platinum Jubilee bank holiday weekend in June.

Singers, songwriters and pianists Ian Shaw and Liane Carroll will be performing at an afternoon ticketed concert at Dissenter of Sidmouth church at 3pm on Sunday 5 June.

Other famous names set to perform include Ian Siegal, the Ronnie Scott's All Stars, and the UK 'Queen of Soul' Mica Paris.

Free musical performances available - including at Kennaway House

The festival will also feature a wide variety of free performances at local venues, including on the front lawn of Kennaway House from 12pm to 8pm each day from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 June. Attendees are welcome to bring blankets and folding chairs, but not food or alcoholic drinks as there will be food and drink for sale.

Festival Director Ian Bowden said: "We are thrilled to be presenting four days of free live music at Kennaway House with so many wonderful local and regional musicians.

"Our performance programme offers such a wide choice of music styles which include, jazz, swing, blues, roots, funk, and Latin music. Our free music events have been very kindly supported by local companies which we thank enormously, and our extended gratitude goes to Sidmouth Town Council, Visit Sidmouth, The Community Lottery Fund and to Kennaway House."
