A care home group in the Sidmouth area has been reflecting on a number of recent open days.

Homes in the Doveleigh Care group welcomed the local community to come and see its homes and enjoy a variety of entertainment with a range of food and drinks.

In order to plan for their open days, the managers held discussions with their residents in order to get their thoughts. It was great to hear how the residents wanted to show case their homes.

During Doveridge' s open day, residents and relatives were treated to fish and chips in the sensory garden.

Rosie and a Llama

After lunch, the therapy llamas, George and Harry, came for a visit. Everyone said how wonderful they were and how soft the llamas felt to touch.

Our home in Seaton, Dove Court, included Mary and George enjoying a game of 'Shut the box' with Philip and Rosie. Shirley and Eileen spent time together looking at photo albums.

Edith had a brilliant game of Quoits, which she won! In the afternoon, everyone was treated to musical entertainment by the very talented Declan Duffy. Everyone had said it had been a wonderful day.

What wonderful weather we had for the Arcot House open day. 'Your Mobility' functional seating specialists came with a range of specialist chairs and an interactive cat, which Cathy loved to pet.

The residents said how much they loved the bunting and balloons. In the afternoon, residents were treated to songs by the fabulous Emily Miller. It was a fantastic day for all involved.
