Changing room refurb now underway at Sidmouth Swimming Pool
Refurbishment works to the changing rooms at Sidmouth Swimming Pool are starting today (Monday 14 February).
The refurbishment is expected to take 10 weeks to complete, and is being financially supported by East Devon District Council.
The works have been described as 'a cosmetic refresh' of the existing changing, shower and locker facilities instead of a full-scale project like the renovation of the Honiton Swimming Pool changing rooms.
The refurbishment will be done outside of opening hours, and if the swimming pool needs to close - which is unlikely, according to LED Leisure - staff will aim to give at least seven days' notice via the app.
Councillor Nick Hookway, East Devon District Portfolio Holder for Culture, Sport, Leisure and Tourism said: "EDDC is pleased to support LED and the users of Sidmouth Swimming Pool by releasing funds to allow for the makeover of the changing rooms.
"Let's hope that this makeover brightens the whole experience of visiting Sidmouth Swimming Pool."
The charity has thanked its team, customers and the community for their support and patience and has invited the public to get in touch via email at [email protected].
