Sidmouth ice cream shop Taste of Sidmouth won a 'Champion' award at the Taste of the West awards ceremony at the University of Exeter yesterday (Tuesday 13 September).

Its winning flavour in the Champion Ice Cream and Sorbet category at the ceremony, presented by BBC Spotlight's Victoria Graham, was 'Frozen Mango Yoghurt'.

Owner Cathy Inglis said: "We were delighted and felt really proud of all our team at Taste."

The shop's ice cream is made by Cathy's children Thomas and Sophie Vicary, who were reportedly trained by specialist ice cream chefs in Italy.
